Jim Starlin is a comics artist and writer best known for his work in Marvel’s “cosmic” universe and as the creator of Thanos, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Shang-Chi, Master of Kung-Fu, and Dreadstar, in addition to revamping the well-known characters Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock. He is also well known for his work on Infinity War, Infinity Gauntlet, Warlock, and Batman: A Death in the Family.

Jim Starlin is known for creating such characters as Thanos, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, and Shang-Chi, Master Of Kung Fu. Jim Starlin’s work includes Captain Marvel #25-34, Warlock #9-15, Marvel Graphic Novel #1 The Death of Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange #23-26, Marvel Two-In-One Annual #2, Avengers Annual #7, Dreadstar #1-26, Strange Tales #178-181, Epic Illustrated #1-9 (Metamorphosis Odyssey) and many others. Starlin handled writing and art duties for his Thanos character in Thanos #1-6, Thanos vs Hulk #1-4, and Marvel Universe: The End #1-6. As a writer of Thanos, his work includes Thanos Annual #1, The Thanos Quest, Infinity Gauntlet #1-6, Infinity War #1-6, and Infinity Crusade #1-6. Jim Starlin’s DC Comics work includes DC Comics Batman #414-430, the famous Batman: A Death in the Family storyline, Batman: The Cult #1-4, The Weird #1-4, Cosmic Odyssey #1-4.
Many of Jim Starlin’s characters are seen in feature films such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War. In 2017, he was inducted into the Eisner Hall of Fame.
