comic has many aspects: Graphic design, layout,

composition. Understanding layout could lead you
to a carrier as a graphic designer. If you're into
character design you might end up in animation or
even fashion design. This panel will also answer
parents most asked question: Can you make
money as an artist in other ways?

Culture and life! We will discuss a brief history of

View of the geisha world, what has changed over
the past year, and about the onnagata of kabuki
theater. Sheet music as transcribed by Anna of
Ana's Ikimaru will be shown of the popular ballad,
"Gion Kouta", and the popular games, "Walk Like
A Geisha Relay Race" and "Is This Picture A
Geisha, or a Dude?" will be it's return as well.

Hosted by Heidi Ranier. The BJD Jogging Suit
workshops will provide con-goers with expert
instruction and the chance to make a set of
drawstring pants and a pullover hoodie for SD,
MSD, and YoSD ball-joint dolls or dollfies. The
instructor will detail how to sew a set of doll
clothes on a sewing machine. Hemming sleeves
and pant legs will be done by hand. Con-goers
purchase precut kits for $5-7 with all the fabric
and notions necessary.

impostors. We will discuss the Kimono Hime and
Waloli looks that are reviving the trend in Japan
right now. There will also be a demonstration on
how to wear the kimono in the traditional way, as
well as a demonstration on how one can wear the
kimono to suit their personal taste.

A GROUP COSPLAY CONTEST UNLIKE ANY OTHER
It's easy... you and your friends can enter in
cosplay as a band.

You can choose a pre-existing anime or animated
band (such as Josie and the Pussycats, The
Archies, Dethklok, Beck and Nana) or come up
with your own idea for a band using your favorite
anime or cartoon (imagine Naruto on lead vocals,
Sasuke on bass, Gaara on guitar and Temari on
drums... or Master Shake on lead vocals, Frylock
on bass, Carl on guitar and Meatwad on drums...
get the idea?). We'll provide the gear, you bring a
cd with a song that your band can lip sync and
rock out to. The contest will be based on stage
performance and costumes.

Do you want to talk to that hot girl dressed as
Asuka, but you don’t know how to start the
conversation? Worry no more! The models from
Cosplay Deviants (www.cosplaydeviants.com)
will be on hand to help you with the ins and outs of
talking to girls at anime conventions without
coming off as “that creepy fanboy.” Learn great
intro lines and tips for keeping eye contact with
those “distracting” costumes. This panel will
educate and entertain even the most seasoned
convention attendee – so stop by!

OVER NIGHT SEWING WORKSHOP FOR KIMONO
With Heidi Ranier
This overnight workshop will provide con-goers
with expert instruction and the chance to make a
Kimono. Con-goers purchase pre-packaged kits
for the workshop (about $35 worth of precut
fabric, thread and notions). The instructor will
detail how to pin and sew the item(s), and how to
do simple alterations on the kimono (shortening
hems, sleeves, etc). Con-goers will be able to
wear their kimono at the end of the session, or
bring their unfinished kimono home if they cannot
stay the whole night.

It's a dating game with a twist. Contestants must
be in costume. There will be 2 sections... One with
a girl cosplayer looking for a date (with 3 lucky
cosplay guys) and one with a boy cosplayer (with
3 lucky cosplay girls). This is an 18+ event and
the winners will be treated to dinner at the hotel
coutesy of FSC. To register, you'll need to sign up
at the information desk at the con prior to the
event. Contestants will be chosen
from those that register.
